Trixie Mayhem

Our Mid Week Featured Company Is The Wonderfully Creative Trixie Mayhem

Trixie mayhem maybe new but by no means any less fabulous. Created by the sweetest lady Fi Norbury. A home based business in the Nottinghamshire area (Kikrby in Ashfield) - All items are on display at MJ's Computers in Kirkby where she has a stand.
Specializing in alternative & vintage inspired Jewellery, Hair accessories, Bags and more - Their product range is constantly expanding with new items in a wide range of colours, sizes and styles.

What & Who Inspires You?

Im majorly inspired by the 1940's & 50's, Everything was so much more stylish and we all took more care of our appearance. I love the rockabilly style, And i love fantasy and mythological things like fairys, dragons, mermaids. My first love was all things gothic, so thats where my heart is. I try to use & all these factors when thinking up new designs or new items.
Inspiration for starting Trixie Mayhem came from visiting my first vintage fair mid part through last year. I was so taken back by the magical atmosphere that is stepping back in time, all the pretty handmade jewellery, the people all dressed in vintage styles. It made me think 'why cant i do this too'. So i started making hair bows, and the rest progressed from there.

Whats Next For Trixie Mayhem?

My next step is attending local fairs and get Trixie Mayhem out there on line & where I live. I aim to set up a website, where people can purchase products and see whats going on in Trixie Mayhem land. Im hoping to keep developing the product range, and eventually look to be adding hand made clothing items in vintage prints and styles. Also hoping to keep expanding my fan base on facebook, social networking is powerful tool and its a great way to advertise your work.

I love Trixie Mayhem's Vintage Gothic twist, her cameo work is simply stunning and I really can't wait to see whats coming next. Her taste is great and with her work ethic I believe she will go far. I love what Fi uses for inspiration and her jewellery is right on trend right now, with great prices too everyone can treat themselves to something yummy.

Who & What Would You Say Is Your Inspiration?

All of my fellow friends, military wifes, girlfriends and fiancées were my inspiration! I want my fellow military ladies to be able to support their heroes from head to toe!

Whats Next For Beauty.Mark Military Boutique?

I think the next step for my business would be embroidery designs or hand stamped jewelry!

Beadoire Jewellery

This weekends featured Company is: Beadoire Jewellery

Run by the lovely Gemma who has been making jewellery from her teens, and is based in Warwickshire. Beadoire have a vintage look that is fresh and modern. Featuring bold, expressive designs, vibrant colour's or softer, contemporary and elegant pieces.

What Or Who Inspires You?

"I am inspired by life in general really, I see things day to day that inspire my creations, whether it be the colour of a beautiful sky that I might try to capture in a piece of jewellery or childhood memories (the MY Little Pony keyrings for example). My children inspire me to never give in... I have found since watching my little ones progress and learn that I myself am more willing to try something new"

What's Next For Beadoire Jewellery?

"Onwards and upwards! I am working on a new website that will hopefully better reflect the vintage style of my jewellery and provide a pleasant and memorable buying experience for customers.
I have started organising vintage/craft fairs for local crafter's to be able to showcase our handmade wares. It's not for profit but just something that I feel needed to be done. There are lots of organisations out there that 'organise' craft fairs at such an extortionate rate, I wanted to level the playing field really.

What I admire about Gemma is her drive & commitment to the crafting industry as well has her creative drive with her jewellery. Each piece is an exquisite creation to be cherished and adored. With bespoke orders taken to budgets to suit all. I find Beadoire Jewellery original, inspired & really rather gorgeous. I look forward to what Gemma has in store next especially with her web site and craft fairs.

Becky Leigh

Our mind week featured company is the lovely and rather charming: Becky Leigh

Run by the very lovely Becky Leigh. This online business is fresh and new. Based in North Norfolk . They sell Unique up-cycled jewellery and brooch bouquets. Their brooch bouquets are simply amazing, Such a unique and very personal, vintage look to them.

"I sell necklaces made from reworked bits of jewellery. I use reclaimed chains, pre-loved beads and almost every piece features and up-cycled brooch at the centre. I also create brooch bouquets which can be used for brides and bridesmaids. For people not getting married I offer "Keepsake Bouquets" which are made from whatever people would like them to be such as an old brooch collection, necklaces, old watches, buttons etc. I made one for a 90th birthday from the ladies brooch collection and I made one recently as a lady just wanted to display her collection"

What or Who Is Your Inspiration?

I don't have any particular influences, I like to make things that I would wear and I like the idea of owning something that you know nobody else has. It's nice to know you have something unique.

So Whats Next For Becky Leigh?

I'd like to see if I can get any interest in the bouquets from wedding magazines and maybe do a wedding fair. I'll hopefully be selling the necklaces at Wivenhoe May Fair in Essex on 30th May though! As I have 3 small boys I needed something that would fit around them so thought working for myself from home would be the best option.

What I LOVE About Becky Leigh is the possibilities I can see for her and her vision. She has an eye for new ideas, A vintage touch & look thats timeless. With the path laid out for a very bright future I can't wait to see whats coming next and just how far she can take her wonderful talent. What a wonderful idea to have some family jewellery, or something vintage for your special day, Something that once gave someone such joy to wear, is now bringing you joy to you.
